Activities at the Costa Blanca

On the cliffs of Santa Pola and in the mountain areas of the interior part of the coast, such as the Sierra de Palomaret in Agost or the Sierra del Cid in Elda, you can practise Paragliding.

On the shore and inland of the Costa Blanca you can find a big variety of routes for walking and trekking, with different difficulties and lengths for those who like to explore the area on foot.
You can also do climbing with different qualities of rock.

Surrounding the salt lakes of Torrevieja and La Mata or along the beaches there are very nice routes for horseriding. For example the Centro Ecuestre Internacional in Torrevieja, Urb. San Luis (Information: 96 678 6302) is offering excursions on horseback.

Another activity is cycling along the many small rural roads and cycle tracks in the area.

The island of Tabarca, the northern part of the Costa Blanca and the area near La Manga are natural reserves and some of the best scuba diving areas of Spain. You will find underwater a large variety of fish and fauna as these are all protected zones.

For the owners of boats and yachts the Costa Blanca offers a number of marinas in the area: In Torrevieja, Santa Pola, Alicante and Guardamar. Near the river Segura they has been built a modern marina which offers all the basic services. In summer you can learn and practise different nautical sports...

Also in the area there are number of rivers and lakes for coarse fishing, for which a licence is necessary. In addition you can also fish from the beaches right along the stretch of coast.
